CROCKPOT CHICKEN AND GRAVY

SHARING IS CARING!

Tender chicken breasts soaked in a delicious gravy and served over mashed potatoes and white toast characterize this Crockpot Chicken and Gravy. It is an excellent dinner option anytime of the week.

Crockpot dinners are one of my favourites, especially during the holidays. Because of how busy my day can get, especially during holidays, I barely have the strength to prepare dinner, and so I’m always on the lookout for easy-to-prepare dinners that won’t cause me hassles. Because of this, I find all crockpot recipes especially fascinating since I can throw in all the ingredients into the crockpot before leaving for work and know that I have dinner ready by the time I’m back from work.

This crockpot chicken and gravy is incredibly soft in the mouth, and exquisitely delicious. All it takes is chicken gravy, cream of chicken soup, and chicken broth mixed in a crockpot and allowed to cook for a few hours. You can serve hot with steamed rice and some green beans.

Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

3 to 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

1 (10.75-oz) can cream of chicken soup

2 (0.87-oz) envelopes of chicken gravy mix

½ cup water or chicken broth, optional

Hot steamed rice

Cooking Instructions

Step 1:

Place the chicken in the slow cooker and season with salt and pepper, if desired. Whisk soup, gravy mix, and water together and pour over chicken.

Step 2:

Cover the crock-pot and allow to cook on low for about 4-6 hours. Then break the chicken breasts into small pieces before serving and serve over hot steamed rice.

Tips and variations:

  • You can use chicken thighs or tenderloins in place of chicken breasts if you want.
  • You can also use frozen chicken breasts. However, if you are using chicken breast, you may need to cook on the higher end of the cooking time
  • Frozen vegetables can be added to the mixture.
