Tips and variations

Your old fashioned potato can last for up to 3-5 days in the refrigerator if it is well wrapped and chilled.

To freeze potato salad, you need to let it cool completely and then spoon it into an airtight freezer bag and lay it flat. After this, you can squeeze out as much air as you can without crushing the potato salad.

If you have plenty of potato salad to freeze, you can use two or more bags. Thinner layers are best both for freezing and thawing. To unfreeze, you will need to remove it from the  refrigerator overnight. You might need to add a little more dressing before serving potato salad to give it more taste and flavor.
